Luxury home sales highest since housing recession: Luxury home sales jumped sharply again last month in the Denver area, sending million-dollar sales to their....

highest level since the pre-recessionary peak of the housing market, according to a report released today Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.

A total of 108 homes sold for more than $1 million in June, up 52 percent from last 71 sales in June 2011 and 42 percent higher than in May, when 76 properties priced at $1 million or more changed hands. Sales in June were the highest since Coldwell Banker began compiling the luxury report in 2007.

Home Values Post First Year-Over-Year Increase Since 2007: Home values posted their first year- over-year increase since 2007 in the second quarter as the U.S. property market began to lift off a bottom, Zillow Inc. (Z) said.

Colorado shows well in Forbes ‘Best Places for Business’ analysis: Colorado is the only state to have two cities ranked in the top five of Forbes’ recently released Best Places for Business and Careers report. Fort Collins ranked third and Denver took the No. 5 spot.

Three top U.S. resorts are in Colorado: The Osprey at Beaver Creek is honored as the top resort in the continental United States — and leads a Colorado sweep of the top three American resorts — in the Travel + Leisure 2012 World’s Best Awards, which were announced July 6th. The Sebastian in Vail ranked as the No. 2 U.S. resort and No. 30 overall hotel in the world.

U.S. News ranks top Colorado hospitals: National Jewish Health is ranked as the best respiratory hospital in the nation for the 15th year in a row and University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) retains its position as the top overall hospital in the state in the newest U.S. News & World Report hospital rankings.
